When Do We Collect Personal Information?

When you contact JVC:
  • to order or download publications
  • to report or file a complaint against a jewelry business
  • to register for a webinar or other presentation by a JVC staff member or affiliated person or entity
  • to seek guidance or education
  • to apply for new or renewed JVC membership
When JVC contacts you:
  • to inform you about a complaint received by our organization
  • to inform you about an advertisement that appears to violate federal, state or local guidelines or laws
  • to ask you to participate in an industry or private educational event
When we contact others:
  • to collect information about mediation disputes or industry issues

What Do We Do With The Information We Collect?

Internally, JVC may use your information:
  • to create your member profile on our database and public-facing website directory
    • you may opt-out of inclusion on the website directory by emailing info@jvclegal.org
  • to add to our marketing email lists
    • you may opt out of any marketing emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in those emails or emailing info@jvclegal.org with your request
  • to send you member alerts, newsletters and contact you
  • to provide you with education and guidance or direct you to an outside person or agency for guidance or professional services
  • to process orders for goods or services
JVC may share certain information with:
  • state, local, federal and international government agencies and authorities to assist in investigations, rule making, education initiatives
  • individuals or businesses in response to court orders, subpoenas or other litigation-related requests
  • third-party service providers that assist with our website or communications
  • if requested, outside entities and individuals, to confirm past and present membership status and mediation complaint status, for use in credit reports, entity verification, and any other uses within our discretion

But, What About Cookies And Web Analytics?
