Initiatives in Art and Culture is excited to announce that on Wednesday, April 28th, as part of our “All That Glitters” webinar series, we will host a discussion titled “Words Matter: Transparency.” IAC president and founder, Lisa Koenigsberg, along with several panelists, will explore the many uses and meanings of the word “transparency.”
Certain words have taken on new meanings and are used ever-more broadly within political discourse, regulatory contexts, and everyday parlance. “Transparency” is an excellent example, now applied to the sources of materials, chain-of-custody, transactions along the supply chain, and political dealings, just for example, as well as to the very nature of stones (“clarity”). Of particular significance is the increasing importance to and ramifications for the consumer and the retailer of transparency, traceability, and responsibility.
