Matthew Bockner
Matthew Bockner is a Partner at TDI based in Washington, DC. He joined the firm in 2018 as Chief of Operations, leading the team that delivers TDI’s core advisory intelligence services. Mr. Bockner specializes in crisis management, building intelligence collection programs, and developing strategies to navigate opaque market risk. He has substantial experience working and negotiating with executives and senior government officials in politically unstable and operationally complex areas of the world. Mr. Bockner’s methodical approach to assessing risk enables clients to focus on the pertinent information required to make critical business decisions.
Mr. Bockner served in the US diplomatic corps for a combined total of 16 years as a foreign affairs, national security, and intelligence professional. With six field tours in Africa, Europe, South Asia, and Russia, he worked with senior government officials, foreign leaders, members of Congress, industry experts, and corporate executives to find discreet solutions to complex issues in some of the world’s most challenging environments. During his government career, Mr. Bockner held multiple senior field leadership positions and received numerous intelligence and diplomatic awards for his service, to include operations against both hostile state and non-state actors while serving in an active war zone.
Mr. Bockner received a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in public policy from Roanoke College. He started his career in communications, was a US Peace Corps Volunteer in Côte d’Ivoire, and is fluent in French and conversant in Russian.
