Associations and societies are more about the individuals who make them up than the lofty goals they purport to support. The Jewelers Vigilance Committee is an amazing and underappreciated organization of individuals whom I have supported for decades and will continue to support for the foreseeable future. I can tell you from personal experience that they are the guardians of integrity for the jewelry industry. Between helping people who purchase a misrepresented item of jewelry to helping a seasoned jeweler who might be taken advantage of by an unscrupulous wholesaler, JVC is ready to do battle to help the victims. Not only are they reactive but they offer a wide array of proactive classes and seminars to keep the public (and the honest trade) safe.
