The national discussion about race sparked by George Floyd’s murder last year also reverberated through the jewelry industry: the JCK Industry Fund introduced a new Diversity & Inclusion Grant, mentorship and scholarship programs were developed, and a new industry organization, the Black in Jewelry Coalition, launched “to find ways to end systemic racism and improve diversity and inclusion.” This webinar will explore how these and other efforts have progressed, and what can be done in 2021 to create a more diverse and equitable industry.
Host Andrea Hill will lead a panel discussion with Annie Doresca, CFO of Jewelers of America and president of the Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJC); BIJC board chair Adrianne Sanogo (GIA Graduate Gemologist); Stephen Lott, president of Heritage Appraisers; Anthony Mock, president of Mock & Co.; Maryanna Nagle, director of luxury consignment experts at the RealReal; and Tiffany Stevens, president/CEO and general counsel of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee.
